Service Description

Current events-In this current events class we will look at a wide range of current events happening in our own town to events happening across the globe. There is a great deal of misinformation and biased information available today thanks to technology at our fingertips. Our goal is to help students determine what sources are reliable, how to compare multiple sources, as well as hear the underlying intent of the writer. Students will learn how to analyze and discuss what happened, why it happened, and how different people process it. We will also be able to answer the questions: does it affect us locally? and does it affect us globally? This class will cover a wide range of topics. There will be homework assigned weekly.
