Classes
How Formed: Classes are formed by a parent proposing to teach a subject and then submitting a proposal to the appropriate class coordinator. After Board approval, class is placed into the next available schedule for the agreed semester.
Who Teaches: Every class will have a teacher and at least one co teacher able to teach in the event of the teacher’s absence.
How Many Children: The maximum class size will be determined by the teacher and proposed to the class coordinator, for Board approval.

Hour 1 Class Descriptions
Sight Words: Introducing words and letter forms that will better enable your student's reading skills. Through colorful games and play students will memorize many of the basic words and sound combinations to give them a lifelong foundation of reading ability.
American Girls: We will be reading various American Girl books, using 1 book approximately every 2-3 weeks depending on the length of the book. The students will study the story and time in history. They will create a lapbook about the stories/history. We will also have some crafts.
Please note: students in this class need to either be able to read the book independently or you will need to read it together at home before the class.
Cost: $5 per student
Logics: Exercising key critical thinking skills to analyze, problem-solve and communicate through different class exercises
Mock Trial: The goal of this class is to learn a little about the legal process in our country. We will pick a case based on a fairytale and end with a mock courtroom trial.
Cost: $5 (possibly less depending on class size)

2nd Hour Class Descriptions
Science with Littles/Plus PE: This is a dual subject class. We will be exploring Mystery Science for the first half of the class and PE games the second half. Each week we will be watching a short video on various topics and doing a craft to go along with it. The second part of class we will play games like Hopscotch, jump rope, 4 square, kickball, etc.
History: Hands on history. We will be focusing on the Medieval time period. Castles, knights, kings, and lords and the like will be discussed while crafting and reenacting significant events.
Cost: $9
CS Lewis Literature: In this book club class we will read and discuss books by C.S. Lewis. We will focus specifically on the Narnia books. There are four main books that are directly connected to the world of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, and The Last Battle. We will begin with the Magician's Nephew and proceed from there. Our class sessions will include book discussions, comprehension, vocabulary, writing, projects, Christian worldview topics, and some viewing of movies or clips.
Cost: $2 (cost of materials. The study materials are a combination of Progeny Press, TeachersPayTeachers, and materials I have personally created)
Each student will need to bring his or her own book.
Beginning Spanish: The goal of this class is to build a foundation. We will learn the Spanish alphabet, pronunciation, basic vocabulary (like colors and musical instruments and anatomy), and start to memorize common phrases. This is an academic class that will build each week. Students should be participating fully and working to the best of their ability so that the class as a whole can progress.
3rd Hour Class Descriptions
The Human Body: We will read books, exercise, and sing learning about our hands, feet, ears, and nose (just to name a few)
Cost: $5
Choir: If you like to sing, this class is for you! We will explore different songs to sing as a group. This is a class for all levels of singing. There will be opportunities for solo parts if desired. Come join us and have fun!
Sewing: This class will be about the basics. Learning the different elements of a sewing machine and how to operate one. Learning how to choose a pattern and read it. We will make multiple simple projects like bags, pillowcases, etc and hopefully end with pajama pants. We will also learn some hand stitching that is necessary to finish a project.
Class limited to 6 students.
Cost: $3 and providing your own material and notions for larger projects.
US Presidents: The goals of this class are to become familiar with the presidents of the United States. Tackling approximately 4 each week (so that we can make it through them all in 12 weeks) we will look at their families, qualifications, successes and failures, and major historical events occurring at the time of their presidency.
4th Hour Class Descriptions
Storytime: This is a great place for our littles to spend their last hour of the day. There will be stories and play time in the nursery...a perfect place for little bodies who have a long day sitting still. Snack will occasionally be offered.
Fine Arts: We will be studying all the things that make life beautiful; music, art, art projects, poetry, nature, and bible verses for memory.

Karate: Come learn the art of Shotokan Karate. We will be learning some self-defense skills as well as playing games that help with the learning of those skills. Come prepared to have fun but also learn self-discipline and self-control.
The curriculum features a unique character development program centered around Christian Character qualities such as Endurance, Patience, and Alertness.
Major Inventions of the Century: From radios and antibiotics to airplanes and space travel we will examine major inventions of the last century, how that invention impacted our culture in the US and around the world, and future potential growth in each area
